1537 | John Copleston to Cromwell ? | The late Mr. Cortenay owed me 500 marks for a marriage to be had between my son and heir and his daughter, for payment of which he put certain lands in feoffment, and made your Lordship overseer for performance of his will. Sir John Chamon showed me that ye would cause my money to be paid. There is 400 marks in arrear for which it was proposed that I should have a lease, for 4 years, of the manor of Alfyngton and other lands put in feoffment by Mr. Corteney to the yearly value of 100 marks.
